I was born and raised in Palatka, Florida and graduated the class 1976 Palatka South High with honors.

My cousin Herbert who is several years older got me in interested in pharmacy when I was in the eighth grade from that moment on all my classes were geared to attending pharmacy school. I choose FAMU (Tallahassee, FL), because I wanted the college experience and UF is within driving distances of Palatka.

I joined Army ROTC while at FAMU and received a 4 year army scholarship which allowed me to receive an army officer commission and serve 4 years as a pharmacy officer on active duty. I served 4 years as a pharmacy officer at Fort Ord, CA where I started several innovated programs. I started a monthly staff pharmacist newsletter that was distributed to all hospital healthcare providers, extended pharmacy hours from eighteen to twenty-four hours and a local testing program for pharmacy technicians to ensure they could handle the night shift working independent of an onsite pharmacist.

My passion is mentoring future pharmacist and empowering patients to take charge of their health. I have spent ten year in military/civil service, ten years in retail and now at least ten years in hospital pharmacies and I find all aspects of pharmacy rewarding. I spent the last 3 years obtaining my Pharm.D. , to ensure that I am a more informed preceptor. My personal hobbies vary, I enjoy traveling, reading, baking and photography. I would like to be instrumental in starting at least two to three palliative care beds for COPD/CHF.
