Hospital's Effort Gets Financial Allocation

Putnam Community Medical Center hopes to continue efforts to be a designated Baby Friendly hospital after state officials recently allocated $1.4 million for the state Department of Health's Healthy Babies initiative.

The hospital partnered with the health department in Putnam County last year to work toward the Baby Friendly designation. The designation requires the hospital staff complete 10 Steps to Successful Breastfeeding.
